3 March 2023—WHPA members continued to engage with the development of the future pandemic treaty at the WHO during the latest round of discussions by the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB4), held on 27 February–3 March 2023. Via facilitation from the WHPA secretariat, members provided feedback on the zero draft under discussion.

Their contributions focused on the continuing lack of provision for the prevention of, and recovery from, the mental health burden and exhaustion experienced by health personnel in emergencies. Provisions for protection from violence against the health and care workforce are also still missing from the draft, according to WHPA members.

WMA and World Physiotherapy sent a joint letter to the co-chairs of the INB, including an annex with specific drafting suggestions for the treaty.

ICN sent its own letter to the co-chairs of the INB.

FDI made a statement during the INB negotiations.
