WHPA has been successful in influencing the terms of the latest draft of the WHO pandemic agreement to include more support for health professionals. It delivered its appreciation and continuing concerns in an open letter and a statement at the 7th INB meeting held in Geneva this week.
The WHPA has released a statement on the treatment of health professionals in the conflict which erupted in Israel and Gaza last week calling for all parties to respect their legal obligations under international humanitarian law to protect and respect access to healthcare and ensure the safety of civilians and healthcare workers.
